House passes sweeping voting rights, electoral reform bill

Good ideas from House Democrats.

Democrats in the House have passed HR 1, the "For the People Act" which would:

• make election day a Federal holiday,
• oppose partisan gerrymandering and,
• require presidents to release their tax returns,
• among other things.

The bill will now go to the Republican controlled Senate. The Senate should fix any problems they see in this bill, make it better, and then vote on it. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has already said the Senate will NOT vote on this bill. Why not?
